Any small token of good luck to other contestants. Please make sure they know who it is from. Be creative, but keep it simple. Some give a small piece of candy, while other have given small toys that you might find in a multi-pack at a dollar store. We ask you bring 20 with your contestant's name on it. Your child will then go home w/ a bag of goodies.
What is People's Choice?
People's choice is a fundraiser for the OLM Scholarship fund AND OLM credit for the winner. What happens is throughout the prelim, we will remind you of people's choice. 1 vote=$1. 20 votes=$20. You can vote as many times as you want. The contestant with the most votes will receive 1/2 of the total donated in OLM credit to be used at state!!! AND if the donated total is over $100, the People's Sweetheart will also receive a special prize. Tell your friends and family to bring a few extra dollars to vote for their favorite contestant!
How much is it to watch?
Prelims are FREE to watch. Invite your friends, family, co-workers, etc. to support your contestant. The more the merrier!
What are OLM Referrals?
We want everyone to find out how wonderful Our Little Miss is. Fill out the referral page with names, addresses and emails of potential contestants. If you list at least 10 names , you will receive a special gift onstage. If you list at least 25 names, you will be entered in a drawing for a OLM Special Gift AND a $50 OLM credit (drawing to be held at last prelim).
| What do the contestants do?
Don't worry. Contestants will be shown what to do. Make sure you show up on time, so you have practice time onstage. Someone from OLM will show contestants what to do on stage. We love first timers and will help you every step of the way.
Does my child have to do a Talent?
Yes. Talent is part of the competition during the Official Season. Each contestant ages 7 and up will have to have a 2 1/2 minute talent to perform. The talent can be anything that your child is good at, or feels comfortable performing. This could be singing, dancing, instrumental, mime, drawing, ect... Please see requirements for state. If your child is performing a musical number, please bring a copy of the music to registration.
Can I go onstage with my contestant?
In our youngest group, 0-2 years, a chaperone MUST be with the contestant at all times. While on stage, the chaperone MUST either carry contestant or walk w/ the child holding onto contestant's hand. This is for the safety of the child. In place of interview, the Chaperone will introduce their child to the judges, telling them what makes your child special.
Ages 3+ should TRY to do all events by themselves, yet we do understand that sometimes they won't. Prepare them on what to expect. Interview for young children will be simple and normally about their family, friends and pets. At most pageants, OLM Royalty will be present. These young ladies LOVE to help the little ones to feel comfortable onstage. What if I have questions?

Things to Remember:
*Our Little Miss is a natural pageant. We want our kids to look like kids and not mini-adults. Please do not put make-up on babies. Very light or NO make-up is preferred on children. Teens need to have age appropriate make-up, if any.
*We want REAL kids. No fake hair, teeth, nails allowed.
*Clothing needs to be age appropriate. At a prelim, you will likely see contestants wearing pants/blouse or capri outfits and for party dress/formal you'll likely see Sunday/Easter dresses and suits or button down shirts/slacks for boys.
*Interview will be not be done in front of the audience and contestants should be in their casualwear outfits.
